As Director for Banking Product Strategy & Planning, you will define and oversee our product strategy & roadmap delivery for Banking Software Solutions. We are seeking individuals with expertise and who are accustomed to leading innovations in the financial services industry, along with delivering on proven results using unprecedented, relevant insights on business-critical operations and customer behavior. In this position, you will work closely across multiple product management teams, finance, marketing, sales, professional services and engineering counterparts to ensure predictable results of delivery on product strategy and roadmaps. 

Essential Functons 
  • Discover and validate market problems (both existing and future customers)
  • Seek new market opportunities by leveraging Diebold Nixdorf’s distinctive competence 
  • Define and size target market segments as part of business case development, annual roadmap planning and new investment opportunities
  • Conduct win/loss analysis with input from Customers/Prospects and Sales channel support with an eye towards improving our solution competitiveness. 
  • Provide oversight of strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of all products in the portfolio in partnership with the Banking Product Management Directors and their teams. 
  • Create, maintain and own the product vision and the 3+ year product roadmap for the Banking software portfolio with inputs from internal and external stakeholders; Includes ownership of driving annual Banking Product Strategy and Planning process for the Product Management team. 
  • Define annual Product P&L plans and forecasts with monthly analysis of product profitability and sales success to proactively ensure financial performance goals are met. 
  • Drive buy/build/partner decisions in partnership with Product Management, Business Development, Product Development and other stakeholders (e.g. Segment leaders, Corporate Development, etc). 
  • Position the product for all markets and all buyer types with Marketing, Product Management and other key stakeholders’ assistance to ensure continuity in execution of the product vision in the end to end product lifecycle. 
  • Review and approve final marketing and go-to-market plans & deliverables to ensure messaging, target markets, product goals are supported adequately.
  • Review and approve sales enablement training and documentation for direct and indirect sales channel to ensure training and documentation are supporting product vision, customer/buyer awareness and value-based messaging needs appropriately. 
  • Enable sales engagement managers, solution architects and presales consultants with systems, tools and procedures required to onboard customers with ease.
  • Represent Diebold Nixdorf at industry events and drive leadership at customer advisory boards, user groups and forums.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, Master’s Degree in Marketing, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field preferred 
  • 7+ years of prior Product Management experience in Financial Services/Fintech Software solutions oriented product environment preferably in a global role. Knowledge of competitive products and targeted financial services industry market areas 
  • A solid understanding of leading edge technologies and best practices around building banking software products. 
  • Working knowledge of fundamentals of banking software such as ATM self-service, digital banking, payments, transaction processing, APIs, analytics, etc. Understands and is able to apply critical thinking, and strategic business and finance experience to help drive business decisions. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (English) at all levels of the organization – executive & senior management, team members, peers, and partners. 
  • Requires the ability to influence the thinking of and/or gain an understanding from others in sensitive situations while maintaining a constructive dialogue. Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies and track and measure results. 
  • Proven capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, stakeholders, strategic customers and industry influencers. 
  • The individual should be equally effective working with and influencing commercial teams such as marketing, sales leadership, business & corporate development, industry organizations, etc. 
  • Position will require domestic and international travel 
  • Ability to travel 50%
