The Inventory Manager will provide organizational direction and leadership in the control of plant inventory, evaluate existing inventory control methods for efficiency and propose, and drive organizational improvement in a collaborative team environment. Scope includes component parts used in product as well as finished goods inventory.
Success will be measured by maintaining and improving control of plant inventory to performance metrics.  A successful candidate will provide leadership that allows the plant to achieve its financial, operational, customer performance, and compliance objectives. This role works closely with Warehouse, Production, and Materials organizations to achieve these objectives. Scope of Responsibility includes directing a team for the development of inventory control training and procedures, inventory analysis, and inventory cycle counting activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising Inventory Team activities and staff

  • Achieving inventory control goals (ie: Cycle Count Completion, Inventory Accuracy, Inventory Loss)  

  • Providing procedures, training, and monitoring required to maintain inventory accuracy 

  • Facilitating plant processes in ensuring that parts are received, stocked, issued, and relieved from inventory in an accurate controlled manner

  • Ensuring 100 percent of cycle counts are completed accurately and timely per the defined cycle count process

  • Ensuring all material is properly issued to production work orders when scanned out for shipment

  • Developing and publishing inventory control metrics / KPIs

  • Analyzing data, developing, communicating, and monitoring inventory control improvement plans to ensure objectives are met

  • Leading and participating in Kaizen events to achieve inventory control improvements

  • Taking a significant leadership role with plant physical inventory (PI) and reconciliation

  • Providing ad hoc inventory support, reporting and analysis as needed

  • Managing inventory control financials including department budget and plant inventory monetary variances 


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain preferred with 3 years related experience, or 5 years equivalent in a Manufacturing/ Warehouse environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with Oracle applications including Oracle WMS
  • Proficient in use of quality tools (Pareto, Kaizen, root cause analysis, etc.)
  • Must be able to work on cross functional teams to achieve results 
  • Must have sound analytical and communication skills 
  • Must have interpersonal problem solving skills while being motivated and self-directed
  • Must be able to work within a team environment as well as independently 
  • Ability to work in environment prone to deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrate desire to be responsible for inventory control with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Must have strong organizational, facilitation and coaching skills 
  • Past supervisory and cycle count experience desired
